Restalrig Collegiate Church, St Margaret's Parish Church

Two skulls and a heap of bones held loosely in folds of drapery.
At the top is a sad looking 'Green Man'.

absolutely stunning! I love looking at old gravestones. You have captured some truly beautiful ones in your travels

Hi Nerissa

Thanks for all the comments they are much appreciated! Burials in Leith occured over three cemeteries. South Leith (which I have not visited yet) North Leith and for a time Restalrig. If you have any specific names/locations to watch out for I could look when visiting. South Leith, I believe is a fairly big cemetery but the earlier gravestones are roughly organized the old craft guilds, so occupation might be useful. Many cemeteries have/are having their headstones transcribed, though I'm not sure if the Leith/Prestonpans ones have been done.
